Transgender older adults are navigating health systems that can be complex. A new fact sheet, Medicare & Transgender Older Adults: What Advocates Need to Know, explains what to expect from Medicare coverage for transgender older adults, including:

• Understanding how gender markers should not affect access to Medicare eligibility or coverage;
• Navigating Medicare coverage options;
• Accessing services, including preventive health care, medications, and gender-affirming care; and
• Responding to discrimination in health care.
